Start with London Bridge Hotel if arriving by train and dropping your bags is the priority. This independent property puts you beside the station and the Shard Quarter, with Borough Market close by. 02 · The Shard · London Bridge station

Shangri-La The Shard, London

Address: 31 St Thomas Street, London SE1 9QU, United Kingdom

Shangri-La turns the station area into a special-occasion stay, occupying the upper levels of The Shard from level 34. The attraction is the elevated setting as much as the convenient neighborhood below. Choose your room by its stated view and layout; photographs do not promise an identical panorama from every category. Check current pool access arrangements and any restaurant reservations separately from the room booking.

03 · More London · east of the station

Hilton London Tower Bridge

Address: 5 More London Place, Tooley Street, London SE1 2BY, United Kingdom

This Hilton sits on the south bank, toward More London and the riverside route to Tower Bridge. It suits a trip combining station access, nearby offices and walks past HMS Belfast. Dining and fitness facilities add conventional hotel convenience. Match the name carefully when comparing offers: Hilton London Tower Bridge is a different property from Hilton London Bankside, and it is not the Tower Hotel across the river.

04 · Southwark Bridge Road · market west

Novotel London Bridge

Address: 53–61 Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1 9HH, United Kingdom

Novotel is a practical comparison for families and travelers balancing work with sightseeing. Its room range includes sofa-bed configurations, while meeting facilities support a working visit. Confirm the permitted occupancy, children's arrangements and breakfast terms for your selected offer. The Southwark Bridge Road address is west of the market; do not confuse it with Novotel London Tower Bridge, a separate hotel on the other side of the Thames.

ibis Styles London Southwark – near Borough Market

Address: 43–47 Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1 9HH, United Kingdom

citizenM London Bankside

Address: 20 Lavington Street, London SE1 0NZ, United Kingdom

07 · Bankside · Southwark Street

Mercure London Bankside

Address: 71–79 Southwark Street, London SE1 0JA, United Kingdom

Listed on the current Accor site as Mercure London Bankside, this hotel also appears in older guides as Mercure London Bridge. Use the Southwark Street address to match the property. 08 · Bankside · Great Suffolk Street

Hilton London Bankside

Address: 2–8 Great Suffolk Street, London SE1 0UG, United Kingdom

Choose this Hilton for the Bankside neighborhood and a fuller hotel setting, with dining, meeting facilities and an indoor pool. 09 · Blackfriars Road · western Bankside

Bankside Hotel, Autograph Collection

Address: 2 Blackfriars Road, Upper Ground, London SE1 9JU, United Kingdom

Bankside Hotel adds an art-focused choice near the Blackfriars Road end of the neighborhood. Art Yard dining, shared social spaces and meeting facilities give it a different character from a station-first hotel. Compare Southwark and Blackfriars approaches for your particular journey. Borough Market is an outing east along the district, rather than the hotel's immediate doorstep; choose this location because the wider Bankside setting suits your plans.

10 · City of London · north bank

Vintry & Mercer

Address: 19–20 Garlick Hill, London EC4V 2AU, United Kingdom

Vintry & Mercer is the north-bank alternative for travelers whose meetings are in the City of London. Its Garlick Hill address puts the river crossing into your market visit: plan the route over Southwark Bridge to Borough Market. Boutique interiors and rooftop dining add leisure appeal. Check restaurant availability separately, and do not assume every bedroom has a river view simply because the hotel has a rooftop venue.

Plan a Borough Market visit around your stay

Staying nearby makes it easy to combine a food-led outing with the rest of London. Browse produce, bakery counters and prepared food, then continue toward Southwark Cathedral or the riverside. Treat the market as a daytime destination: check its current opening day before planning breakfast or lunch, and look up individual restaurants separately for evening meals.

Allow time to wander rather than trying to cover every stall in one pass. Busy periods and cobbled surfaces can make luggage awkward, so leave bags at your hotel where storage is available. If you have an allergy or dietary requirement, ask the individual trader about ingredients and preparation. The market's variety does not mean every stall can accommodate every request.

London Bridge station, Bankside and the two bridges

London Bridge station combines National Rail services with the Jubilee and Northern Underground lines. Save directions to the actual hotel entrance before traveling: the station, London Bridge Street, Southwark Street and Tooley Street are related arrival points, but they are not interchangeable. For the western hotels, compare Southwark or Blackfriars with London Bridge according to your train.

London Bridge and Tower Bridge are separate crossings. The famous towers belong to Tower Bridge, farther east along the Thames. That distinction matters when a hotel name includes “Tower Bridge” or a photograph shows the landmark. Plan a riverside walk as a separate activity, and use station exits, street crossings and accessible routes when judging the journey with bags.

Add Westminster as a separate sightseeing trip

A Borough Market base can also work for a wider London visit. The Jubilee line links London Bridge with Westminster, where the Elizabeth Tower and Parliament create a very different riverside scene. Check the current journey before setting out, especially late in the evening. The Westminster photograph here shows that separate excursion, rather than a view beside the market or these hotel entrances.

Compare the room and the complete stay total

For colleagues, check whether the category has two separate beds. For families, confirm occupancy, sofa-bed arrangements and breakfast for everyone. A rooftop restaurant, shared lounge or pool may help distinguish hotels, but access conditions and availability still matter. Ask about the room position if sleep and street noise are priorities.

Compare identical dates and currency, then review cancellation deadlines, payment timing, breakfast and the complete total, including any charges payable at the property. The initial search compares two adults; check your full party before booking. No fixed room prices appear in this guide, so use the search form for offers available for your dates.
